...We've been SLABBED...

I went past the site on Friday, 24 October 2014 to check on progress and this is what I saw... 

The form-work and plumbing being completed! This meant that the slab was to be poured in the next few days. And I was right :-)...

I drove past on Monday, 27 October 2014 and was greeted by a beautiful piece of concrete. We have a SLAB ladies and gentlemen. And before the concrete was even dry, Clarendon sent us the invoice ;-)). It's great to finally have something to give us an indication on size as for many, many, many months we've been looking at the drawings. And yes, we did have a drink (or 2) to celebrate... 

... We have a fence...

We have a fence ladies & gentleman! To drive up on Friday, 17 October & see your site all fenced (& with a port-a-loo) up was exciting beyond words. After many months of absolute no action it was an emotional moment to see something happen (be it a small one) & realise that the dream was slowly becoming a reality. Clarendon Homes will be building the dream (I'll do another post on them later).

... The Beginning...

And this is how our story begins...

We decided to build a new home in January / February 2013. We luckily found land in the area of Kellyville we really liked (and it suited our budget) and placed our home on the market in March 2013. We were blessed enough to sell within 1 week. We exchanged on the land in June 2013. And then we waited for the land to register... and we waited... and we waited. And FINALLY in July 2014 (13 months later), it registered! 

So... here is our land (picture taken April 2014):

And here we are celebrating that our land finally settled in our names (picture taken August 2014):
